Joseph Hachem is the 2005 World Series of Poker Champion
So the newest World Series of Poker Champion is Australia’s own Joseph Hachem. He took home the title after a long and grueling Final Table. The table was filled with relatively unknown players aside from Mike Matusow. It was quite incredible how it all played out. The crowd was pumped and the Australian Assassin had a lot of fans in the crowd cheering him on. There was obviously going to be a post game
Poker Party for all those in attendance.
What a place to have a bash in Las Fucking Vegas. I mean you not only win $7.5 Million dollars but now you get to live it up in one of the best cities in the world. Tell me they didn’t have a blast. I’m sure Knockout Kanter’s boys had an awesome time that night as well. The jealousy is setting in. I can’t wait to check out the ESPN coverage of the event.

Poker Robot
A new invention into the poker world is the poker robot. Yesterday Phil Laak went one on one with this poker robot (the so called best poker robot in the world) at the World Series of Poker. This event was sponsored by "GoldenPalace.com".
The actual event was a poker robot tournament and the winning robot’s creator/programmer would have the opportunity for their robot to go against any professional poker player of their choice. Oh yeah, and the winning robot’s creator/programmer won $100,000. The programmer (Hilton Givens) would pick Phil Laak “The Unabomber” to go heads up against his robot. The heads up match lasted for close to three hours and Phil Laak would take down the robot. Afterwards, Phil had mentioned that the robot was a lot better than the average player and he was almost positive that this bot would make some money for sure playing online.
Some interesting stuff going on in the poker world that’s for sure.

Poker Party Tonight
Well today was an awesome day in TO as the sun was shining and the temperature reached the mid 90s. The day called for setting up shop at a patio and firing back a few pints before we head over to our buddies house for an evening of poker. We play a lot of home games and when its this nice outside we typically make tables in the backyard so that we chill outside all night. We have been known to have a few poker keg parties and those are always a fun time. I haven't played any online poker in the last little while as I have taken a little bit of a hietus from it. I have been playing a lot more live games with my buddies.
Our home games typically have about 15 guys playing so at the end of the night there is a pretty decent pot to play for. We are fans of Texas Hold'em and we play the no limit variety. We have attempted a few times to play Omaha but we haven't hopped on board full time just yet. You know how a lot of times you get sick of different games and stuff you are always looking for new avenues to play, who knows Omaha might be it.
Anyways I've gotta get out of here and get my day underway. I'll let you know how my Poker Party goes.

Hybrid Poker Tables
Another interesting poker gadget could be on its way soon to a casino near you. With the poker craze hitting high on all levels companies continue to introduce new concepts to hit the poker party. Here is an excerpt of the article from Poker News:
"A North Carolina company called PokerTek, Inc. has developed a new poker table that could revolutionize the casino game. Their technology is called PokerPro and is designed to remove the possibility of human error from the game. The tables would have monitors on them for each player that accept the deal of the cards, rather than a human dealer who would be responsible for the shuffle and deal. Play would commence as normal in whatever game was being played, with the bets being registered on the monitors and constant information being fed to the other players at the table. At the end of a hand, the winner (or winners, in a split pot game) would be credited with their share of the pot, as the computers would already have deducted the appropriate rake and determined the winner."
I'm not so sure about this one though as I think the whole point of going to a casino to play live games is for the atmosphere, if i wanted to play in front of a computer screen i'd just stay at my house.

The Kid has Arrived
Hey Whartz up!
The kid is officially a blogger and he's pretty stoked to be a part of it. This blog is gonna cover a lot of areas with it mostly covering poker. My boys and I are big fans of poker and we are involved in a poker website. We also are huge sports fans so i will also be talkin about a lot of sports as well. Poker is a game that we find ourselves playing a lot, we play a lot of homegames, online and at the local casinos. Also, we like to enjoy ourselves and take some trips (you'll hear about some vegas stories) and giver on the weekends, so you guys will have a lot to read about.
