Negreanu ousted from the Wynn?

I came across a rumor earlier today that Mr. Daniel Negreanu has been ousted from the Wynn Casino and it will take effect at some point this week. If this is true what a change of events for the 2004 Player of the Year. Wow! To think this time last year he couldn't be stopped and he was appearing all over the television, final table after final table with a number of wins. Now, he is struggling to get through day one of major tournaments. This rumor has not been officially confirmed but if it is true that's gotta hurt the ego just a little bit. Who is gonna take over for him at the Wynn is the next question? There are obvious choices here who should be the next one, and there are a few choices mentioned at Odd Jack such as Brunson, Chan, Hellmuth, even Jennifer Tilly got a few votes.

I'm gonna go on record here and throw my support to Phil Ivey as the next man at the Wynn. Even though he lives in Atlantic City, could the Wynn convince this superstar to make the transition to Vegas. For that matter would he want to leave Atlantic City for Vegas that's another question. This selection is based on poker and poker alone. He has tremendous skills and I think he would definitely attract a number of players to sit down at his table and take him on. I think the Wynn would benefit greatly from having someone like Phil Ivey in their casino. This guy is a bonafide superstar in this game and he would be a solid representative of the Wynn casino.

Back to Negreanu, this guy has just fallen off the map these days and maybe this little ousting from the Wynn will piss him off enough to get him back to focusing on his game and make a serious run in the coming months and year. I like Negreanu as a player and its a shame that it has come to this for him but it could be a blessing in disguise. Cmon Danny let's get your game in order and get back to being one of the best players in the world.
